What we collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (hashed, never stored in plain text). During onboarding, you may optionally share your display name, country, age range, and topic interests.
As you use the app, we store your reading progress, checklist completions, bookmarks, and health tracker data. This data is tied to your account and is never shared with third parties.
How we use it
Your data is used to:
- Personalise your dashboard and recommendations
- Save your progress across sessions
- Process payments if you subscribe to Plus
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with third parties except as described below.
Third-party services
We use the following services to operate Adultproof:
- Supabase — database and authentication (stores your account and app data)
- Stripe — payment processing (handles billing for Plus subscriptions)
- Vercel — hosting (serves the website)
- PostHog — privacy-friendly analytics (cookieless, no personal data tracked)
- Sentry — error monitoring (captures technical errors to help us fix bugs)
Cookies
We use essential cookies only for authentication (keeping you logged in). We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Our analytics (PostHog) runs in cookieless mode.
Your rights
You can:
- Access your data — everything is visible in your account
- Update your profile in Settings
- Delete your account — email us and we will remove all your data
- Export your data — email us and we will provide a copy
Data security
Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We use row-level security in our database to ensure users can only access their own data.
